Donna Mohn, Naperville
Naperville Central teacher Donna Mohn is giving her students the ultimate history lesson.
Mohn and 28 Central students are heading to D.C. to see the inauguration firsthand. The group is taking a four-day trip through Smithsonian Student Travel and was able to secure tickets through U.S. Rep. Judy Biggert, a Hinsdale Republican.
They plan to tour the city, see the inauguration and attend an inaugural ball for students.
"A lot of the time we talk about how we want kids to be lifelong learners," Mohn said. "What better experience to get involved in the country and country's history, where we've come from and where we're going."
