Peggy Kinanne's bringing back New Wave, British Invasion

The '80s are back (at least for one night) at Peggy Kinnane's in Arlington Heights where retro party band Selective Recall plays Friday, Jan. 23. If it's '50s rockabilly or early '60s British invasion rock that gets you going, then stick around for the Neverly Brothers playing at Peggy's on Saturday, Jan. 24. Enjoy $4 Cadarozas Tequila shots and $6 Cadarozas margaritas.

Shed-your-blues cruise

Shed the winter blues and come out for Cruise Night Saturday, Jan. 24, at the Village Tavern in Long Grove. Enjoy dinner, drinks and the sounds of various tropical ports of call with the musical accompaniment of R.J. Express. The tavern's "cruise" sails from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. Hawaiian shirts are a must!

Wine your Valentine

Vintner's Cellar Winery says candy may be dandy, but it's wine for your Valentine! Customize a wine label for Valentine's Day with a personal message or photo. Couples can also create their own special wine blend and return eight weeks later to bottle, cork and seal 25 bottles with personalized labels. Appointments are being scheduled for Valentine's Day weekend (Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 14 and 15) with extended evening hours.
