Roskam is making a name for himself

I was pleased to hear that my Congressman, Peter Roskam, was recently appointed to the Ways and Means Committee in the House. Mr. Roskam has only been in Washington for a few years and is already making a name for himself as the only Republican from Illinois to serve on one of Congress' most influential committees.

With all of the turmoil Illinois is currently facing with our politicians, I take comfort in knowing that Roskam's common sense solutions on reducing our taxes and fixing our health care system will be heard by all. Mr. Roskam being named to Ways and Means is some of the only good news our state has heard in these recent trying months. His voting record exemplifies his inclination to reach across the aisle and his determination to lower the burden on the taxpayers. Representative Roskam is the voice of reason that Illinois needs in order to gain back the credibility and respect the state once had.
