Hoffman police eye suspect in repo shooting
Hoffman Estates police are searching for a 42-year-old man they suspect threatened a trio of car repossession workers with a gun on Tuesday.
Hoffman Estates police Lt. Rich Russo said an arrest warrant has been issued for Ronnie Kindred, of the 1900 block of Brighton Lane. Kindred is wanted on the charge of aggravated discharge of a firearm.
Police said that around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, Kindred ran out of a his residence after one of the repossession company workers hooked up an Isuzu SUV to a tow truck.
Kindred pointed a revolver at the man's head and demanded the release of the SUV, authorities say. But the repo man fled in the tow truck with the SUV attached.
The two men and woman who work for Palatine-based Professional Recovery Services told police they then heard five or six gunshots.
Police have a number of leads and want the public's help in finding Kindred, Russo said. Russo warns anyone who sees Kindred should not approach him and to immediately call police at (847) 882-1818.
