Governor deserves a fair defense

As I am not a supporter of the governor and want a working government in this state, I feel we should have a real trial with the rules we already have. But if you are not going to use the standard method of trying someone as innocent until proven guilty, let them put on a defense, not be the judge and jury all in one, and do not use the rules of evidence we already have in place. Then we all suffer.

If they can railroad and lynch our governor, what will they do to us? If they have all this so-called proof, then have a real trial.

It is just the whinny Republicans getting even with the Democrats. If we want a true non-pay-for-play, then do not exempt the road-building construction industry as they did in the new ethic reforms that went into effect Jan 1. This state is one large pay-to-play, always has been and always will be. Three of our governors were sent to prison. One is hoping to be let out early because his wife is sick. At least he's a Republican, so we have bipartisan crooks. We all had better think long and hard on this, if we throw out our laws governing trials, no matter the who, what or where, we are no better off than a dictatorship. A fair trial with a proper defense is the only way our legal system should work for everyone, period. Otherwise, there will be another governor who is not too popular, and we will be able to do it to him or her, for no other reason than the rules will be suspended whenever you have a personalty problem. Like what is being done to our current governor.
