Watching Durbin makes him dizzy
Sen. Durbin, Illinois' chief flip-flopper, has taken more positions, in less time, on Roland Burris' appointment to Barack Obama's Illinois Senate seat than a contortionist at a circus.
Adding insult to injury, Sen. Flip-Flop unequivocally stated that the tradition of the U.S. Senate requires that Jesse White, Illinois Secretary of State, signature had to be affixed to Roland Burris' credentials in order to be seated in the Senate.
Now, Sen. F/F is backing off that stance since the Illinois Supreme Court knocked that argument out of contention. What is particularly galling in all of this is the sheer hypocrisy being exhibited by Senator Flip-Flop when he had no problem submitting his own credentials to the President of the United States Senate, certifying his re-election, which were signed by Gov. Rod Blagojevich.
And where was the outcry when Gov. Blagojevich signed the necessary documents allowing for the special election to fill Rahm Emanuel's seat in the U.S. House of Representatives?
I guess Blagojevich's illegitimacy in carrying out his constitutional duties, deemed illegitimate by the likes of Sen. Flip-Flop, only applies selectively. And the outrage over Blagojevich exercising his constitutional duties is selectively meted out as well.
Sen. Flip-Flop, please make a new year's resolution to just stay in the chubbiness of the Senate and spare us having to look and listen to you for the next six years.
