Photo of Des Plaines bank robber released

The FBI Tuesday released surveillance photos of a man who robbed the TCF Bank inside the Jewel Food Store at 1500 Lee St. in Des Plaines on Dec. 26.

According to authorities, a man at 4:04 p.m. approached a teller at the bank service counter and implied he had a gun.

He ordered the teller to give him $50 and $100 bills.

The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash to the robber. The robber fled in an SUV. The dye pack exploded in the parking lot.

The man is described as a black male, 6-foot-tall, weighing about 180-200 pounds, with an athletic build between 30 and 35 years old.
