Thanks for visiting Raceway Woods

Once again, the Ornament Hunt at Raceway Woods was a great success. Visitors that discovered ornaments for cash were rewarded for having overcome the challenges presented by December's severe weather.

A total of 35 ornaments were placed on the snowy branches of trees and shrubs in hopes that hikers and winter adventurers would find a little holiday spirit in the surprise discovery of a $5, $10 or $20 prize.

While the "cash" reward assisted ornament finders with holiday money, the real reward was visiting the winter wonderland presented by mother nature during the snowy and sometimes icy covering of the landscape.

My purpose in offering this little winter adventure was to introduce the Raceway to a new set of enthusiastic users. Whether you were a first timer or returning visitor to the Raceway, I hope that you will visit often during every season to enjoy what Raceway Woods has to offer.

If you love the Raceway as I do and wish to assist in the continuing restoration projects currently underway, you are invited to take advantage of the volunteer workdays held twice yearly.
