Material Sciences reports earnings

ELK GROVE VILLAGE - Material Sciences Corp., a provider of material-based solutions for acoustical and coated applications, reported results for the third quarter. Net sales for the third quarter of were $48.5 million, a 25.5 percent decrease compared with $65.1 million in the third quarter of fiscal 2008. The company recorded a net loss of $4.8 million, or $0.35 per share, compared with net income of $1.1 million, or $0.08 per share, in the prior year's quarter.
