No confidence in Burris as Senator
With all due respect to Bobby Rush and his comments at the Blagojevich appointment news conference, I am reminded of Martin Luther King's speech "I Have a Dream."
It is my recollection that Rev. King's dream was that people should not be judged by the color of their skin, but by their character. Apparently Bobby Rush does not honor Rev. King's dream as evidenced by his comments.
As far as Roland Burris' acceptance of the appointment, it just goes to show how egotistic and self-serving he is.
As I read the Federal Constitution, Article I, Section 5(b) it states that each House may determine the rules of its proceedings, punish its members for disorderly behavior, and, with the concurrence of two-thirds, expel a member.
Hopefully the Senate will expel Gov. Blagojevich's appointment.
We all need leaders to believe in. It is not Roland Burris.
