Grandfather killed in Brookfield fire

A grandfather was killed and his two grandchildren critically injured when a fire swept through a brick bungalow in Brookfield.

Seventy-one-year-old Henry Allison and the two children, four-month-old Lylian Robinson and four-year-old old Calvin Robinson, were taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood late Thursday. A hospital spokeswoman said Allison died and the children were in critical condition.

Brookfield Police Chief Steven Stelter said Allison called for assistance. However, smoke and fire was belching from the building when firefighters arrived.

Police say the three were the only ones in the home at the time of the blaze. A 10-year-old brother was down the street at a library and the children's parents were away.
