A wonderful start to the new year

As I read the Jan. 1, 2009 edition of the Herald I am greeted with the headline, "Burris sues."

In yesterday's Herald editorial, you asked the question, "What was Roland Burris thinking?" Now we know. Another self-serving politician who is aiding and abetting the governor, whose only motive is to create a constitutional crisis at both the state and federal level in order to negotiate with the federal law enforcement authorities to save his own skin. Throw in a congressman who believes the only criteria for Senator is race and we have more hubris that even a Chicago alderman can stand. Arrogant people who will drag the state of Illinois to more ridicule and make the good citizens of the state the laughingstock of the nation.
