Time for a wall at our borders
It seems funny to me, that just today, people are starting to question the government policy on visas for foreign workers for jobs that have now completely disappeared. It was back in February I questioned the theory behind bringing in more foreign workers for the high tech jobs that Americans don't want to do. I thought it was a valid point then, and is now as so many Americans are being laid off and our economy going down faster then the space shuttle Discovery. What are these people thinking? I have also stated that when the economy did start to slow down, what are all the illegal immigrants going to do when Americans can't afford to hire them to cut grass? Is this where all this money Congress is spending wildly, to pay for the damages of a bad policy and worse immigration policy? We did not need foreign workers then, and we really don't need them now. If ever there was a time to circle the wagons and stop this madness at our borders, this is and should be the time. If our president wants to put people to work on WPA type projects, I think a wall at both borders would fill the bill. After we finished that, then our infrastructure would get less abuse with the slow down of illegal traffic. Our states might even have enough money to use salt again on the highways, and, who knows, once we actually start working for the American public again, instead of pandering to special interest groups, this country might get back on it's own feet again. There is a policy I think Americans can live with Washington.
