Cavs' Ilgauskas to miss game against Bulls

CLEVELAND -- Cavaliers center Zydrunas Ilgauskas will sit out Friday's game against the Chicago Bulls with a sore left ankle.

Ilgauskas has been bothered by pain and stiffness since spraining his ankle on Dec. 10 against Philadelphia. He missed three games because of the injury. The 7-foot-3 big man, who overcame serious foot injuries earlier in his career, was examined at the Cleveland Clinic and advised to get rest.

Ilgauskas hasn't been as mobile since getting hurt and the Cavs' offensive production has slipped.

Anderson Varejao will replace Ilgauskas in the starting lineup as the Cavs, the NBA's only unbeaten team at home, look to win their 17th straight on their home floor.

Cleveland forward Wally Szczerbiak is expected back after missing two games with a bruised right knee.
