No good excuse for e-mail greetings
I am kind of a traditional guy. I enjoy reading my holiday cards that I get from my friends. I enjoy the little personal notes inside and the occasional picture. Once looked at and read, I string the cards along my doorway or I string them along the stairway. They stay up for about 30 days so that people visiting can read and look at. I also enjoy sending cards out for the holiday to my friends. Lately things have been changing. I am getting more and more happy holiday e-mails. You get all kinds of excuses as to why they are sending an e-mail instead of a card. This is so lazy and cheap it is ridiculous. Everyone gets the same message and they send it all out in one e-mail. There is no personal feeling with this type of e-mail. I don't mind getting jokes this way but not a holiday greeting. The email people I thought were friends will not be getting cards next year. I do not send out e-mail greetings so I guess they will not be getting anything. It is a shame the world is getting so fast paced that there is no more personal feeling in what they do. It is all about cost and being lazy. And by the way, most of my friends are retired or close to retirement and can afford the postage.
