Roskam stood up to Big Three bailout

After hearing the outcome of the automotive bailout vote, I was relieved to see that my Congressman in the 6th District, Peter Roskam, voted against furthering our nation into deeper economic depression. As a college student, I have plenty of debt of my own. Like all other Americans, I am responsible for paying off my loans; I don't count on the federal government to cover my personal expenses. Why should multimillionaire auto executives be given special treatment for running their business into the ground due to their lack of vision, innovation and fiscal responsibility? A few weeks ago, these executives requested $25 billion, and now they have raised that request by nearly $10 billion more. If Congress did not put their foot down today, who knows what the next ludicrous bail out demand will entail.

Roskam stood up to the Big Three and didn't hesitate to say no to this ineffectual, economically reckless bail out.
