Quinn spends Christmas with sailors

Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn spent part of his Christmas with 99 sailors stationed at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center who were unable to be with their families for the holidays.

Quinn attended a dinner Thursday afternoon with the sailors in the Chicago suburb of Berwyn. Quinn's spokesman said the sailors had access to donated cell phones so they could make free phone calls to loved ones all morning.

The holiday dinner was hosted by a Veterans of Foreign Wars post.

Quinn has been in the spotlight since Gov. Rod Blagojevich was arrested on federal corruption charges earlier this month. Blagojevich was accused of trying to sell President-elect Barack Obama's vacant U.S. Senate seat to the highest bidder.
