40 Springfield students to see inauguration
SPRINGFIELD -- U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin says his office has gotten more than 20,000 ticket requests for President-elect Barack Obama's inauguration, but 40 students from a Springfield high school have gotten lucky.
Durbin called Lanphier (LAN'-fear) High School history teacher Scott Metzke on Monday. He offered tickets for 40 students and their chaperones.
Metzke says students have raised nearly $10,000 for the January trip.
Each senator has been allotted 393 tickets to the swearing-in ceremony.
