Crews didn't look like experts to him

I am originally from Virginia, and that state doesn't pretend to have a clue about snow removal. However, from what I remember, when there was a snowfall of the amount Chicago sustained on Dec. 16 (a "mere" few inches), there would be snow plows out on the major arteries, plowing and salting.

On Dec. 16, I spent over 3 hours doing my very basic commute home from Bannockburn to Lake Zurich on "Takes Half a Day" Road. In that entire time I did not see one snowplow, nor the results of their handiwork. All of us drivers simply had to slog through the mess on our own.

To make matters worse, once I finally passed Buffalo Grove Road, the traffic was backed up all the way to Route 83. Then I saw the reason for that: an abandoned Comcast van, parked in the left lane before the lanes merge into one. Not only that, there was not even an attempt to move it over toward the median to give the traffic some clearance.
