Who is campaigning against clean coal?
"Follow the money" is the sage wisdom given to find the source of the bad acts of man. The Reality Coalition is spending an enormous amount of money on TV ads designed to attack the concept of clean coal. One has to ask why and where did they get the money from?
Clean coal is technologically and scientifically real and doable. And coal is one of America's cheapest and most abundant energy resources (enough for 500 years). Wouldn't it be great to have a cheap, abundant and environmentally clean energy source? It will take investment and research for sure, but it can be done if we made it one of our serious options for energy independence.
Who would be against pursuing a cheap, abundant, clean and local energy source and then contribute tens of millions of dollars to defeat it in the public eye? How about Iran, Russia, Venezuela, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, and other OPEC nations that want us dependent on their oil? Many of these countries are our enemies and would like us to be weak and vulnerable. All of them make hundreds of billions of dollars a year selling oil. The people that will benefit the most if the concept of clean coal is killed is OPEC.
So the next time you see one of the ubiquitous commercials form the Reality Coalition attacking the concept of clean coal, ask yourself where they got the money from and why it was given to them.
