Time to put aside our differences

In response to the gentleman who suggested in the Nov. 14 Fencepost that everyone who voted for Barack Obama donate 3 to 5 percent of their earnings to someone who voted McCain/Palin in an effort to redistribute our wealth, I would like to assure him that if he is in need like so many other Americans right now, he will be glad to know that his country under Barack Obama would want to offer some aid. The election results indicate that the large majority of Americans are tired of waiting for that aid to trickle down.

As expressed in the Herald editorial on that same date, I strongly agree that it may be best for all of us to put politics aside, and "end the name calling and fear mongering." Even John McCain on election night urged all Americans to "find ways to come together, to find the necessary compromises to bridge our differences ..."
