Christmas story told new way

This Christmas season, Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington will present a visually stunning event the entire family can enjoy.

"Light" combines dance, song and multimedia, featuring an IMAX-type screen, to tell the story of the birth of Christ and how he continues to illuminate the world today.

The story of "Light" doesn't begin and end with Christ's influence in our country. Through stories and music, Willow Creek looks at traditions surrounding the Light of Christ in Mexico, China and India.

The show's free tickets are available at willowcreek.org/Christmas.

"Light" is more than a Christmas service. It's a chance to give back this holiday season. Through Willow Creek's Year End Fund, attendees may contribute to extraordinary causes in the areas of compassion and justice that include the fight against AIDS and global poverty, the food pantry that served more than 2 million meals last year, and Casa de Luz, Willow Creek's church for the Hispanic community.

The dates and times of the show are 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19; 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20; 11 a.m., 2 and 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21; 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22; 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23; and 11 a.m., 2 and 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24.
