Holiday-themed improv in Naperville

Naperville's Comedy Shrine augments its "Who's Line?" improv shows on Fridays and Saturdays with a holiday themed improv show Thursdays through January. Tickets range from $18-$23.

More Catholic comedy

Productions of "Late Nite Catechism," Vicki Quade and Maripat Donovan's sendup of Catholic dogma and parochial education, have dominated the suburban landscape this year. The latest comes to the Skokie Theatre where it runs Saturdays and Sundays through Dec. 28. There's also a special show New Year's Eve.

Local comedian comes home

Chicago native Rocky La Porte, who has appeared on "Tonight Show With Jay Leno" and currently has a special running on Comedy Central, headlines Schaumburg's Improv Comedy Club, the Illinois incarnation of the famed comedy club chain that originated in New York City in 1963. Tickets cost $19 and include a two-item food or beverage minimum.
