Dickens in Dundee had many helpers

The 21st annual Dickens in Dundee festival has been the traditional kickoff of the Dundee's holiday celebrations.

The participation of the businesses, the local churches and the community truly makes this a special event and provides West Dundee that special sense of community and a reason to celebrate the holiday season.

These types of events do not come about without some extra effort, help and support by community members and local businesses.

Special thanks must be given to Rose Bendinelli, Peggy Fahy, Amy Miller, Chloe Leith, Pam Griffin, Tim Haley, and Ellen Gross who helped craft this year's event.

It would not be possible without the participation from our business community, including First American Bank, Schock's Towing, Leith Heating and Cooling, Jewel, Target, Clearwater Theater, Emmett's Tavern & Brewery, and Around the Corner Candy.

Events like Dickens in Dundee serve to enhance the small-town character of West Dundee, and bring into focus the friends and businesses who make the community such a special place.
