Blagojevich not talking today
Gov. Rod Blagojevich has no plans to address the public today, despite having said Wednesday he would, according to his spokesman.
Blagojevich showed up at his office again this morning while his defense attorney was at the state Capitol in Springfield as lawmakers move forward with impeachment proceedings.
Blagojevich spokesman Lucio Guerrero said the governor may talk Friday or next week.
"He is not jerking you around," Guerrero told reporters at an afternoon news conference.
Blagojevich told reporters before a Wednesday morning jog that he was "dying" to address the criminal charges against him and calls for his resignation.
He said, "Hang loose," and predicted he would speak publicly on the matter by today. Blagojevich went through 60 clemency petitions today, authorizing some and rejecting others, Guerrero said. No further information was available.
