Police investigate threat found at WIU

MACOMB -- Western Illinois University police are investigating a threatening note found in the school's library.

It's the second such threat at the university this year.

University spokeswoman Bonnie Barker says the note was found by a student worker about 1:45 a.m. Wednesday.

The note read: "You think you stopped the massacre Never can be sure. Tomorrow," and on the other side said "Bang."

Barker says Western's 12,400 students are taking final exams. She says the school has extra security on campus but is otherwise operating normally.

In March, someone found a note off campus that threatened a shooting and administrators canceled classes.

No arrest was made in that threat. Police don't know if the threats are related.
