Bush's loyal fans were just as excited

If I may respond to Lisa Powell's rant against some perceived notion that the nation has elevated President-elect Obama to some celestial status (Lazy Americans led by the nose to Obama, 12/12/08).

Guess what Lisa?

I wrote almost the identical letters to the editor in December of 2000 and 2004 except my letters were about Bush; but my letters weren't published (so much for your self-proclaimed liberal media bias, huh).

And to paraphrase your own words, I too pray that Obama succeeds, in reversing the economic disaster brought on by the Bush administration.
