Palin who? 'SNL' has fresher fish to fry with Gov. Blagojevich
Even though the accent wasn't quite right, the poufy hair was well done.
And when it comes to Gov. Rod Blagojevich's ethics and foul mouth, it seems the cast of "Saturday Night Live" was right on.
The cast took their best shots at Blagojevich during "Weekend Update" and the show's opening skit Tuesday, with Jason Sudeikis portraying the governor at a senate hearing trying sell prized items like Abraham Lincoln's wedding ring (still attached to the bone) or "protection" from an accidental fire happening to the U.S. Capitol Building.
Even Blagojevich's wife, Patti, made a cameo in a portrayal by actress Kristin Wiig.
Busting into the hearing, she demanded her husband secure her a seat on NASA's board of directors.
And when her husband couldn't come through with the deal, the f-bombs went flying.
But it was cast member Casey Wilson who summed up the nation's impression of Illinois' politics, as she portrayed U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Dole of North Carolina.
"You are a disgrace to the state of Illinois," she told the mock Blagojevich. "Well, maybe not Illinois. But if you were the governor of any other state, you would be a disgrace to that state."
