Ryan must not be pardoned

George Ryan must not be pardoned. If anything, his sentence should be served in a real prison, not a country club. The man is a liar, cheat, fraud and traitor. He has flagrantly violated the trust of the people of Illinois and was responsible for the documented deaths of numerous innocent children. It's hard telling how many other people have been killed or injured due to his greed.

Illinois taxpayers have no sympathy for his old age, failing health or his wife being sick. He should have thought about that before committing his crimes.

If this miscreant is pardoned, it will send a very bad message to other politicians, namely that it's OK to violate the public trust since they wouldn't really be punished at all, maybe spend a year in a luxury "prison" setting, then all will be forgotten.
