Cops: Batavia woman shoplifted with child

A Batavia woman is accused of having a child help her shoplift at an Aurora Wal-Mart.

Alicia A. Pierce, 41, of the 700 block of Jackson Street, was charged Tuesday with retail theft and contributing to the delinquency of a child. She is accused in court documents of stealing more than $150 in merchandise from Wal-Mart, 2900 Kirk Road, with the help of a child younger than 17.

Pierce was released from police custody on $3,000 bail, pending a Dec. 23 court appearance. If convicted of the most serious charge, she could be sentenced to two to five years in prison or probation.
