2 Aurora homes evacuated after gas leak

Two Aurora homes were evacuated for approximately four hours Friday afternoon near the intersection of Bangs and Simms streets after utility workers repairing a water main broke a gas main, Aurora fire officials said. No one was injured. Officials said gas was seeping into the basements of both homes and damage was contained to the front yard of one home, where the gas main was repaired.
