Kasper, Brenly set date for third annual 'bash'

Cubs broadcasters Len Kasper and Bob Brenly will team up again to host the third annual Len & Bob Bash on Jan. 15, 2009, at the House of Blues in Chicago.

This year's Len & Bob Bash will feature the internationally known artist The Hold Steady.

Created in 2004, Brooklyn-based The Hold Steady is known for its mixture of classic rock, folk and hip-hop, and has rapidly gained international acclaim. The band is currently touring in the United Kingdom and will begin a tour in Australia after its performance at the Bash.

"Bob and I are tremendously excited to have The Hold Steady headline this year's Bash. It shows what a great annual event this has become and how we attract the best in music from around the country," Kasper said. "It's such a fun way to kick off Cubs Convention weekend and to raise money for Chicago Cubs Charities."

Tickets for the Bash are now available on the House of Blues Web site (HOB.com). Tickets are $31.

Doors for the 21 and older show open at 7:30 p.m. Since 2006, the Len & Bob Bash has raised more than $70,000 for Chicago Cubs Charities.

The 2009 Cubs Convention will be held Jan. 16-18, 2009, at the Hilton Chicago.
