ECC Founders' Day brunch revisits 1949

Tickets are on sale for the 11th annual Founders' Day Brunch at Elgin Community College.

The event, held on Sunday, Jan. 25, is the first event in the yearlong 60th anniversary celebration of the founding of the college.

With the theme of "Vintage 1949: Celebrating 60 years of ECC," the brunch is a fundraiser to support ECC student scholarships. It will be held in the Fox Valley University and Business Center on the main campus, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin.

Tickets are $75 per person and must be purchased in advance. Seating is limited. Sponsorships begin at $300.

Brunch guests will be treated to a champagne reception followed by a gourmet menu. Entertainment will include a Frank Sinatra impersonator and 1949-style singers. Guests also have the opportunity to enter a wine raffle.

Several awards will be given during the brunch. The ECC Distinguished Alumnus/Alumna Award honors a successful ECC student who graduated before June 30, 2004. The ECC Pacesetter Award honors a successful ECC student who graduated after June 30, 2003.

At this year's brunch, special recognition will be given to the first individuals who graduated from ECC between the years of 1951 and 1956.

The ECC Founders' Day planning committee is seeking these individuals and if anyone graduated during this period, contact Katie Michel at (847) 214-7377 or kmichel@elgin.edu.
