Deputy governor resigns
Former Illinois Deputy Gov. Bob Greenlee says he can't talk about his resignation as one of Gov. Rod Blagojevich's top aides.
In a brief telephone conversation with The Associated Press Wednesday, Greenlee said he'd "been instructed" not to speak, referring questions to an attorney.
Greenlee's resignation comes a day after Blagojevich was arrested on federal corruption charges.
Greenlee declined to say if he is one of the deputy governors mentioned in the complaint against Blagojevich.
Two deputy governors are listed, one as a potential Senate candidate to replace Obama and another as a Blagojevich lieutenant deeply involved in an alleged scheme to shake down the Chicago Tribune.
The 33-year-old Greenlee was promoted to be a top aide to Blagojevich in June.
