Bartlett man charged with buying child porn
Bartlett police arrested a 61-year-old local man Wednesday after they said he purchased child pornography on the Internet.
Charles Rowe, of the 1300 block of Filly Lane, faces two felony counts of child pornography, Bartlett police Sgt. Michael McGuigan said. Rowe was arrested at 1 p.m. Wednesday at his home, McGuigan said.
Rowe purchased "several images" on the Internet, McGuigan said, adding authorities were not targeting Rowe. Federal agents from Immigration Customs Enforcement obtained a warrant and on July 22 and searched Rowe's home, seizing his computers, McGuigan said. Police had to wait for ICE forensic officers to search Rowe's computers before making the arrest, he added.
"They're very busy there," McGuigan said.
He said authorities began investigating Rowe in September 2007. Rowe's bond was set at $100,000 bond and he taken to DuPage County Jail.
