Tisdale leads Illini rout over Chicago St.

CHAMPAIGN - Mike Tisdale had a career-high 25 points and 10 rebounds to lead Illinois to an 89-50 win over Chicago State on Wednesday night.

Mike Davis also had a double-double, scoring 11 points and collecting 12 rebounds for Illinois (9-1). Trent Meacham added 14 points and Demetri McCamey finished with 10 for the Illini.

The 7-foot-1 Tisdale made the most of a size advantage for Illinois (9-1) up front. The sophomore scored 16 points in the first half to give Illinois a 41-26 lead at the break.

Illinois held Chicago State (3-5) to 34 points below their season average and forced the Cougars into 29 turnovers.

Chicago State closed to 47-38 in the second half behind two 3-pointers by David Holston. But Illinois pulled away with a 24-5 run.

Holston led Chicago State with 17 points. Tawrence Walton had 11 points.
