Hoffman allows church speaker system

Residents living near St. Hubert Catholic Church in Hoffman Estates may soon hear bells. The Hoffman Estates village board approved the church's request to install an exterior speaker system for bells and music. That means the bells would be heard at least twice daily, as well as after Masses, holidays and events like weddings and funerals. St. Hubert Pastor Robert Rizzo said he didn't know when the system would be installed because it hasn't been purchased yet. He also said the church is looking for donations to help with the purchase. A few residents had submitted letters to the villages concerned about noise.
