Community pride is bursting in Glen Ellyn

Glen Ellyn can take pride in a number of record turnouts this fall. Charity runs were full. Standing-room-only crowds cheered both of our high school football teams to historic seasons and gave our performers standing ovations at both schools' musical productions.

The Glen Ellyn Town Meeting boasted a record number of voters for village president, village trustees and library board. Then an overflowing crowd came back downtown the following week to see Santa light up the village in fine style. All of these events were made much more significant by the participation of a great number of our community residents, many for the first time. Thanks to those who put on, partook in or stayed aware of these happenings. Let's hope this spirit of involvement, duty and good will carries on well into the new year!
