Obama chosen after much consideration

When I first read Mr. John King's letter on Saturday, Nov. 29, I thought "Oh, great! Another right wing person who just can't get over the election!" But after I reread it, I must say that more than anything I felt more sorry for him than anything. I picture him as a very angry man who questions anyone and everything on a daily basis. How sad and what a terrible waste when he could be getting to know and enjoy so many wonderful people out there. Mr. King, I want you to know that although President-elect Obama was not my original first choice, I did what you want us all to do. I paid attention!!!!! I'm sure I saw "what he had up his sleeve." Here's what I saw. I saw a highly intelligent man with a lot of common sense. I saw a warm, compassionate man who is not afraid to go against the grain and willing to talk to our enemies, WHAT A CONCEPT! I see a president-elect who is truly willing to hit the ground running and not wait until his inauguration to start. I see a man who truly does love his country and wants to do everything in his power to help and strengthen it. Mr. King, look how much we knew about our current president. Way too much, in my opinion, and he still became our president! Isn't this country in terrificly solid shape now, Mr. King? So I was willing to take the chance based on the person I saw Mr. Obama to be. Based on his morals and intelligence and ability to bring people together. I cannot live my life being paranoid every day. I will be ever vigilant, as I have always been. Oh, and Mr. King, I am not some young whippersnapper far left liberal. I am a proud card-carrying member of AARP just like you.
