Metra should give college kids a break
It has recently come to my attention that Metra Rail does not grant college students with the "student" discount that they offer. As a college student, I feel the impact of this head on and feel Metra should redefine its student discount policy and include college students into the deduction program.
Metra is refunded from all loss of money related to reduced fares by legislation that passed in 1989, so I see no reason as to why this discount hasn't already been accepted.
The central idea of the student discount is meant for those enrolled in all levels of schooling. Also, as the expenses of college education continue to rise, students should feel commuting is an option if dorm rooms aren't. Not only will students benefit from the discount but also will their families.
