Tour • A Garden Stroll of Millennium Park's Lurie Garden is 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10. Meet at the "Cloud Gate" sculpture for this free guided tour. millenniumpark.org. Click on park events, then tours.

Lecture

• The Chicago Cultural Center hosts author Joel Greenberg to read from his latest book about two centuries of Chicago nature writing at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9. Free. (312) 742-1168.

Chicago Botanic Garden

• The Wonderland Express featuring holiday horticultural displays and more continues through Sunday, Jan. 4. Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily (holiday hours differ). Admission costs $10; $8 for seniors and ages 3 to 12.

• A library exhibition on plants and gardens in children's storybooks continues through Sunday, Feb. 1.

Morton Arboretum

• Cathy Jean Maloney, local author and senior editor of "Chicagoland Gardening," talks about her book "Chicago Gardens: The Early History" from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7.

• Special "Supper With Santa" dinners are held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursdays through Dec. 18. Cost is $38.88 and $34.56 for kids ages 2 to 12.

• The multilevel model Holiday Railroad operates in the Visitor Center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. most days until Sunday, Jan. 4. The arboretum is at 4100 Route 53, Lisle. Call (630) 968-0074 or visit mortonarb.org. Admission costs $6-$9; $5-$8 for seniors and $4-$6 for kids.
