Athletic Republic to open in Libertyville

LIBERTYVILLE - Athletic Republic, an 18-year-old international performance sports company, will celebrate the official opening of its location in Libertyville from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13. The business is on the second floor of the Libertyville Sports Complex, 1950 N. Hwy. 45. Athletic Republic is one of more than 160 locations throughout North America, the United Kingdom, Russia and Japan. It is performance fitness and sports training that offers programs for athletes of all ages. Jon Palmen, president of Athletic Republic Libertyville, is a former college and high school athlete who currently coaches basketball at The Prairie School in Racine, Wis. He offers six training programs: acceleration, hockey, cord conditioning, recreational athlete, team training and maintenance.
