Support auto bailout - with conditions

I believe it is necessary to provide assistance to the U.S. Auto industry, with conditions, so we can retain so many U.S. jobs.

As a taxpayer supporting this action, I want the money spent in a way that it will return our U.S. Auto industry to the position of strength and world admiration as it once was. Profits generated will eventually repay the loan.

We admonish the banking and insurance industries for misappropriating taxpayer's money. We must insist the funding be used for running the company and not for the continuation of supporting out of control: bonuses, worker's pay rates, noncontributory medical benefits and certainly not for the high rates to retired benefit contributions and retiree benefits. And these benefit costs should not be passed on to the taxpayers through other avenues.

Conditions must also provide for more fuel efficient cars that are affordable.

All these negotiated benefits are not affordable to the automakers or taxpayers. If these rates are not immediately adjusted, I don't think our government officials should provide funding.

Without conditions this will be a money pit, and I do not agree with taxpayer's participation.

I encourage taxpayers to contact their representatives to support the assistance and insist on conditional support so our auto industry can survive and grow.
