Gary Hoey to play City Limits in Schaumburg
Best known for his hit cover of Focus' "Hocus Pocus" and the soundtrack for the documentary "Endless Summer II," guitar hero Gary Hoey's style straddles hard rock, surf and blues. He's also released three "Ho! Ho! Hoey" holiday albums, so don't be surprised to hear some seasonal songs. Lockport-based guitarist Kevin M. Buck opens with his band.

Aaron Neville and the Neville Quintet
Neville had his first hit with "Tell It Like It Is" in 1966. His career's since touched on jazz, soul, country, gospel and Cajun music, as well as those dentist office pop duets with Linda Ronstadt. This jazz-oriented tour, featuring his brother Charles on saxophone, spotlights songs from his pair of Christmas albums.

Don't Call Us No Wave Fest
Repetitive, atonal, challenging, experimental ... this was the artsy "no wave" faction of New York's early punk scene. The spirit lives on in this two-day local skronk fest, featuring a number of classic Chicago no wave contributors. Mentally Ill, End Result and Ono play Saturday, with Lovely Little Girls, Silver Abuse and Flophouse on Sunday.
