Lingerie Football League to debut at Sears Centre
The Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates will serve as the stage for opening night of the 2009 Lingerie Football League's next fall.
The league will open with the Miami Caliente against Chicago Bliss at 3 p.m. Sept. 4, 2009.
The Lingerie Football League will feature 7-on-7 tackle football played by women wearing lingerie. The LFL season will include a 20-week schedule from Sept. 4 to Jan. 22 with 10 teams: Seattle Mist, Los Angeles Temptation, San Diego Seduction, Phoenix Scorch, Dallas Desire, New England Euphoria, Chicago Bliss, Tampa Breeze, Atlanta Steam and Miami Caliente.
"We are incredibly excited to kick-off the much-anticipated inaugural LFL season in a city so rich in football tradition and in a modern state-of-the-art arena like the Sears Centre Arena," said Mitchell S. Mortaza, LFL chairman and president. "The LFL will bring fans across the country a high-energy atmosphere of fierce and compelling football on Friday nights."
Like other LFL teams, the Chicago Bliss season will include one preseason game, two home games and two away games. Former Chicago Bears wide receiver Dennis McKinnon will serve as the head coach of the Bliss.
