Man accosts teen in Barrington

Police were on alert after a report that a man approached a Barrington High School student while she walked home from school Monday. District 220 warned in an e-mail Tuesday to parents and students that the unidentified man offered the student a ride in a white conversion van twice while she walked along Main Street/Lake-Cook Road. The man was described as white, about 40 years old, with shoulder-length gray/blond hair, and wearing glasses and a Chicago Cubs cap.
