Jonathon Brandmeier takes another shot at TV

WLUP 97.9-FM morning host Jonathon Brandmeier takes another stab at TV with "Almost Live" debuting at 1:05 a.m. Saturday on WMAQ Channel 5. Brandmeier describes it as having the feel of "Larry King Live," and two episodes will air, this weekend and next. His previous foray into TV with a show in the '90s was a flop on all levels.

Hearty helping of 'Harry'

ABC Family holds a "Harry Potter" weekend by running the first four movies in the series starting with "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" at 6:30 p.m. Friday. "The Chamber of Secrets" and "The Prisoner of Azkaban" (the best of the bunch, for my wizard's money) follow back-to-back at 12:30 p.m. Saturday and again at 11:30 a.m. Sunday before "The Goblet of Fire" runs with scenes left on the cutting-room floor in the feature-film version at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

Locklear's 'Flirting'

Heather Locklear likewise returns to TV with the made-for-TV movie "Flirting With Forty," debuting at 8 p.m. Saturday on Lifetime. Former "Lipstick Jungle" studmuffin Robert Buckley provides the romantic interest. ... Noah Wyle returns as "The Librarian" in the new movie "Curse of the Judas Chalice" at 7 p.m. Sunday on TNT.

'Heat' rash

"Heat" is your typical overheated cops-and-robbers drama from director Michael Mann, but it does include a top-flight shoot-'em-up action sequence involving Robert De Niro, Val Kilmer and Tom Sizemore as bank robbers engaged in a firefight on the streets of Los Angeles. It's at 7 p.m. Friday on Bravo.
