Ring in the holidays at Jinglebell Jubilee

Lombard is preparing to ring in the holiday season with a Jinglebell Jubilee celebration that will light up the downtown and make Lilacia Park glow with spirit.

Jinglebell Jubilee festivities begin at 2:30 p.m. with a cookie walk sponsored by Lombard Town Centre running until 4:30 p.m. At the Pillar Real Estate office, 24 W. St. Charles Road, festgoers can pick up hot cocoa to go with the cookies.

Throughout downtown, businesses will have their storefronts decorated for the season as part of the Winter Wonderland Window Displays. Horse-drawn carriage rides will run from 3 to 7 p.m., departing from Sky Centers Martial Arts, 26 N. Park Ave.

Santa is scheduled to arrive downtown atop a fire truck about 5:30 p.m. He'll help Village President William Mueller light Lombard's tree.

Afterward, Santa will make his way to Lilacia Park, at Park and Parkside avenues, for a second tree lighting. He'll help flip the switch at the park, where trees will be trimmed in holiday lights, light displays will fill the park and the Puffer Belly Train will give rides to kids.

Canterbury Carollers will entertain from 6:30 to 8:30 at the adjoining Helen Plum Library, on Maple Street at Park Avenue, where visitors can sample cookies and make crafts.

Lombard Historical Society's Victorian Cottage Museum on Maple Street will offer a Ghosts of Christmas Past tour.

A Yuletide Singalong runs 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Maple Street Chapel at Maple and Main streets.
