Hersey High School thanks community

The staff and students of John Hersey High School would like to thank the community for their generous support of our 34th annual food drive.

The Service Over Self Club and Student Council once again organized a community blitz that helped us collect more than 37,000 food items and over $2,300.

With these donations, we were able to give food baskets and gift cards to 62 families in our community and fill the food pantries at CEDA Northwest in Mount Prospect and the St. Augustine Center for Indian Affairs in the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago.

We would also like to thank Garden Fresh Foods for donating more than 10,000 bags for food collection, Route 12 Rental for donating the use of their trucks and Pinnacle Worldwide Relocations in Lake Zurich and CDS Moving Suppliers in Arlington Heights for providing boxes.

Spearheaded by Mark Gunther, George Bedingfield, and Chris Rugg, this all-school project underscores our value of Hersey Family.

The partnership with our community has allowed us to teach a life lesson that will pay dividends for years to come.

Our sincerest thanks to all!
