Oklahoma tops Purdue in OT to win NIT Season Tip-Off

Blake Griffin had 18 points, including the go-ahead free throws in overtime, and matched a career high with 21 rebounds to help No. 11 Oklahoma (6-0) rally past No. 10 Purdue 87-82 on Friday in the championship of the NIT Season Tip-Off at New York. E'Twaun Moore scored 22 points to lead Purdue (5-1).

Pittsburgh 80, Texas Tech 67: Sam Young scored 24 points, and DeJuan Blair had 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead No. 4 Pittsburgh (6-0) over Texas Tech (5-1) in the semifinals of the Legends Classic at Newark, N.J. Pitt advanced to today's championship game against Washington State.

Michigan St. 94, Oklahoma St. 79: Raymar Morgan scored 29 points as No. 5 Michigan State (3-1) beat Oklahoma State (4-2) in a losers'-bracket game at the Old Spice Classic in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

Duke 95, Duquesne 72: Lance Thomas scored a career-high 21 points to help host No. 7 Duke (7-0) beat Duquesne (4-1). It was the Blue Devils' 64th straight nonconference win at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Gonzaga 81, Maryland 59: At Lake Buena Vista, Fla., Josh Heytvelt had 22 points, and No. 9 Gonzaga (4-0) advanced to the championship of the Old Spice Classic by defeating Maryland (4-1).

The Bulldogs will play No. 12 Tennessee in Sunday's tournament final.

Tennessee 90, Georgetown 78: Tyler Smith scored 21 points to help No. 12 Tennessee (5-0) beat No. 21 Georgetown (3-1) in the semifinals of the Old Spice Classic at Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Cameron Tatum had 17 points for the Vols, who made 8 of 9 free throws in the final 46 seconds.

Illinois St. 75, Nicholls St. 65: Osiris Eldridge scored a season-high 24 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead host Illinois State (5-0) over Nicholls State (1-2) in the World Vision Invitational.

Coastal Carolina 69, WIU 60 (OT): Joseph Harris had 27 points and 13 rebounds, and Coastal Carolina (1-4) rallied to beat Western Illinois (1-5) in overtime at the Las Vegas Invitational.

Josh Rivers scored 18 points and David DuBois 12 for Western Illinois.

Rhode Island 77, Penn St. 72: Jimmy Baron scored 20 points, including 4 crucial free throws in the last 12.6 seconds, as Rhode Island (5-1) defeated Penn State (5-1) in the Philly Classic tournament.
